The DEC/HP VAXstation 4000 Model 96 was the top of the range of DEC’s successful VAX workstation Series that was generated from the 4000 Model 90, 4000 model 90A and 4000 Model 96. The VAXstation 4000 Model 96 used the KA49-C cpu module containing a NVAX microprocessor, 64-bit data bus and supported 3D graphics running VMS in a desktop configuration.
